Customer Service / Counter Help

Be the face of Pratt Abbott! We have several openings for full- or part-time Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) at our 12 locations across Southern Maine.  As a CSR, your primary role is to represent the company and provide outstanding service. Duties include taking in customers’ dry cleaning, returning their clean orders to them at pick-up, collecting payments, and answering any questions or concerns they may have.

Because you are interacting with customers, it is important to be friendly and welcoming, with a positive attitude. But don’t worry, Pratt Abbott has the best customers in the world! This is a fun, fast-paced job that is never boring. No experience is necessary, we will train you for this position.

Job Requirements

All applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have basic computer skills (for data entry, looking up customer information, etc.)
  • Be able to read and speak English (to communicate with customers and understand clothing labels)
  • Be comfortable working with the public

Quality Control Inspector - South Portland

As Quality Control Inspector, you're in charge of making sure that all cleaned and pressed items are "customer ready." Working in our South Portland plant, you will inspect all processed items for proper finishing and overall acceptable appearance. If items don't meet our quality standards, you'll send them back to production for touch-up or redo. If they pass your inspection, you will package them, verify that orders are complete, and send them on to the customer. 

Job Requirements

All applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be able to follow written instructions (in English)
  • Be able to count, sort, and package items
  • Be able to distinguish among colors 
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Have excellent attention to detail
