Yellow is the color of happiness, optimism, warmth, sunshine and spring. That makes it a perfect wedding color, especially for spring and summer weddings. (But orangey, mustard-yellow also makes a glorious fall wedding color.) Yellow is balanced beautifully by cool, neutral, and sophisticated greys. Grey is also the color of compromise, an important element of any good marriage! Yellow and grey color palettes started trending in 2016, and we expect this fresh and modern look to be on-trend for the next several seasons.
Part Two: Mother-of-the-Bride and Bridesmaid Dresses
As promised, here's our follow-up to Maine Wedding Inspiration 2017 Part 1. This post features mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaid dresses from the photo shoot for Real Maine Weddings we took part in last May at Maple Rock Farm. Thanks to Brea McDonald Photography for providing the wedding images! (Don't miss the rest of the pictures and more details from the day in the current issue of Real Maine Weddings.)
Part One: Wedding Dresses
We were delighted to take part in a photo shoot for Real Maine Weddings on a chilly day last May. Our job was to steam, press, and perfect the wedding dresses and bridesmaids' dresses before the models put them on. While the models and stylists shivered outside, we were lucky enough to do our work inside the warm and cozy main house at Maple Rock Farm!
What can go wrong when choosing new uniforms for your business?
Plenty! Just ask American Airlines. In case you haven’t heard, last fall American Airlines unveiled their first company-wide uniform update in 30 years. The change was heralded as a brand-unifying triumph. It was the first uniform update since American merged with US Airways, and the final, visible sign of the new, unified company. The new clothing was modern, fashionable, practical, and it projected the image American Airlines wanted: professional, technical, progressive.

Your necktie collection is your ammunition against sameness—it allows to you differentiate your suiting, as well as express personality and taste. Neckties are relatively immune to changes in style. Even if skinny ties are on the way out, you can be assured they'll be back in someday. Purchase ties with great consideration, and invest in the highest quality you can afford. Ties are usually made from delicate materials, but if you care for them properly, they can last a lifetime.
The kindness of strangers

Extend the life of your clothes in just 2 steps.
Please note that this information is provided for use at your own risk.
Do you have to sort your laundry into different piles before washing it? Technically, no. Many people simply throw all their dirty clothes into the washer and let it go. That can work, especially if you wash everything with cold water. But it's risky, particularly if you're washing brand-new bright or dark clothing along with light-colored items. Who hasn't ended up with pink underwear using this laid-back method? Even if you don't notice odd discolorations, doing your laundry without sorting it first causes more wear and tear on your clothes. Sorting allows you to adjust the temperature and soaps you use to best match your clothing's care labels.
The best way to care for sweaters
Everyone loves soft, cozy sweaters in the cooler months. Until they start to pill and smell funky, that is. A lot of people overwear their sweaters because they're intimidated by the cleaning process. It's true that washing sweaters at home can result in a shrunken, misshapen disaster. Don’t let that happen to you! Before you clean your sweaters, read this.
